Setting up Windows 2000
Click on the Start button Click on Settings Click on Network and Dial-up Connections On the Network and Dial-Up Connections window, double-click the Make New Connection icon. Click on the Next button Choose the circle next to Dial-up to the Internet Click on the Next button Select the circle next to I want to connect to the internet manually.... Click on the Next button Select I connect using a phone line and a modem Click on the Next button Type 775-7873 into the Telephone number box Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules Click on the Next button In the User name box, type your surfVI user name In the Password box, type your password Click on the Next button In the Connection name box, type surfVI Click on the Next button Select Yes Click on the Next button In the Display name box, type your surfVI user name Click on the Next button My incoming mail server is an imap server (you can also use POP3 if you like- just change your incoming mail server to pop.surfVI.com) The Incoming mail server is imap.surfVI.com The Outgoing mail server is smtp.surfVI.com Click on the Next button In the Account name box you should see your surfVI account name In the Password: box, type your password Click the Next button Uncheck the box next to Connect to the Internet immediately... Click on the Finish button In the Network and Dial-up Connections window, there should be a surfVI icon Click on Properties Click on the Networking tab at the top of the screen Click on the Settings button Uncheck the box next to Enable LCP extensions Uncheck the box next to Negotiate multi-link for single link connections Click OK- You’re finished!
