1. Click the Apple Icon on the top left of your screen.
2. Select System Preferences...
3. Click the Network icon
4. The Show field should have a modem listed. If not, click the drop-down
menu and choose your modem from the list.
5. Click the PPP tab
6. In the Service Provider space, type in surfVI.com.
In the Account Name space, type in your surfVI.com username.
This will be the saem as your email address.
Type
in your surfVI.com account password in the Password space.
In the Telephone Number space, type in 775-7873. Leave the Alternate
Number space blank.
Make
sure the Save Password box is checked, unless you wish to
type in your password every time you connect.
Click Apply Now.
7.Click the PPP Options
button.
8.In the Session Options panel
Check Connect Automatically
Uncheck Disconnect if Idle.
The Prompt every xx minutes to maintain
connection, Disconnect if idle for xx minutes, Disconnect when
user logs out, and
Redial if busy options, can all be
set to your preference.
In the Advanced Options section, make sure Send
PPP echo packets and Use TCP header compression are checked.
The remaining options should be left
unchecked.
Click OK.
9.Click the Modem tab.
10.Check Show modem status in menu bar, then click Apply Now.
14. Open your preferred email program to receive email
from your surfVI.com account.
